Finca del Sol

Finca del Sol

Finca del Sol was my first solo short-term rental investment — a project that deepened my understanding of how intentional design, hospitality, and storytelling come together to shape memorable guest experiences.

Inspired by my travels and the warmth of Spanish architecture, I envisioned a home that felt both elevated and welcoming:
a retreat designed for gathering, slowing down, and reconnecting with the people around you.

The name itself reflects that vision.

Finca, meaning “estate” or “countryside home,” paired with del Sol, meaning “of the sun,” became a reflection of the atmosphere I wanted guests to experience:
warmth, ease, connection, and a sense of escape.

Every detail was intentionally designed —
from king-sized comfort in each bedroom to layered indoor and outdoor conversation areas and a fully stocked kitchen centered around shared meals and togetherness.

The interiors balanced style with soul, creating an environment where guests could unplug, recharge, and create lasting memories together.

Outdoors, I led a complete transformation of the backyard experience, including my signature diamond-grid turf and paver design, refreshed landscaping, and multiple zones for gathering, entertaining, and relaxation.

The result became an outdoor living environment that extended the warmth of the home and elevated the property into a destination-driven hospitality experience.

Like many of the spaces I create, this project was also deeply shaped by my upbringing and family.

As the youngest of six siblings — and through the influence of my late parents — I learned early on the value of togetherness, hospitality, and meaningful time shared with the people you love.

Finca del Sol became an extension of that philosophy:
more than a vacation rental, it became a space intentionally designed for connection.

This was another fully integrated project that brought together the core pillars of Maximize Studio & Design:

Maximize Brands

Crafting the identity, story, and emotional guest experience behind the property.

Maximize Spaces

Designing interiors and outdoor living environments that balance comfort, hospitality, and elevated design.

Maximize Rentals

Launching, operating, and maintaining the property through a hands-on hospitality approach centered around guest experience and operational excellence.

After two years of hosting — and living in the home myself for a season — I made the bittersweet decision to sell the property to another short-term rental investor who continues to operate it as a vacation home today.

Closing that chapter ultimately created space for the next one:
fully stepping into the growth of Maximize Studio & Design and helping others create spaces, experiences, and stories that maximize what matters most.
